WO”MEN” WORLD

“The best thing about being women is it’s a men’s world”
-         Subu (aaranya kaandam)
Women, who are they?
The cute, fair, tall, beautiful and sexy creation on earth isn’t it?
Girls don’t you all often take pride in often being comprehended as beautiful and sexy?
If YES then please don’t be instead, as they are just sugar coated words.
[Men1:  Who is this divya?
Men2:  Haray yar that sexy chick who sits in the last bench. Don’t you know her? She is so hot. ]
Why is it that a Girl/woman always addressed by “Just” her looks? Is it a unanimous assumption that we are just beauty and no brains? Well think again before you stereotype us.
(Hey look there, the blacky is coming! Ho you fatty! Chinky face! Pretty face Etc… seems like there are no bounds for the kind of names that girls are being called.)
When men gets represented as smart, funny, cool, rich etc… is it because girls are not capable of being smart, funny or rich? Ho… please come-on if you think so I guess your world is pretty tiny. Wake up kiddos…look around!
“I would always rather be happy than dignified.”

Charlotte Brontë
Women, how we were?
With the predominant existence of male chauvinism and sadly India being one of the best examples for it, I want to focus on.
We were considered to belong to only one place in the whole wide world – Kitchen.
Our births were assumed to be a curse and hence the only logical solution to it, was infant killing it seems!
We were pushed in to fire along with their dead husband’s body as they were not privileged to have a life after that.
We were neither allowed to step out of the house nor study.
Ironically we were not allowed inside temples while the men bowed down before a goddess.
We were not allowed to speak in front of men.
We were not even allowed to laugh loudly as it would cause speculations.
Women had nothing in equal with men except the “men” in women!
We were puppets in men’s hands.
“The real woman does not want to be equal but different.”

Federico Mangahas
Women, how they are?
The women who were not allowed to step out of the house are now traveling out of space. The women who are not allowed to speak are now speaker’s in the parliament. The women who were not allowed inside schools are now teaching in it. The women who were pushed in the fire are now bold enough to divorce and stay independent.
On top of all this an epic thing about the change is before women were not allowed to laugh even little louder but now a popular TV show host DD’s laughter is so famous that it became the ringtone of most youngsters at one point of time.
“Every man I meet wants to protect me. I can't figure out what from.”

Mae West
“The women who broke the hill to cave the path”
Indira Gandhi
“If a woman rules the world there would be no war”
When they said kitchen is the place where women belonged to she broke it by becoming India's first female Prime Minister to rule the nation.
She was the Prime Minister of the Republic of India for three consecutive terms from 1966 to 1977 and for a fourth term from 1980 until her assassination in 1984 and a total of fifteen years.
In 1999, she was also voted the greatest woman of the past thousand years in a poll carried by BBC news.
Mother Teresa

When they said you are born to serve the men she broke it by serving the mankind.
She devoted her life to serving the poor and destitute around the world. She spent many years in Calcutta, India where she founded the Missionaries of Charity, a religious congregation devoted to helping those in great need.
“Not all of us can do great things. But we can do small things with great love.”
                                                — Mother Teresa
In 1979, Mother Teresa was awarded the Nobel Peace Prize and had become a symbol of charitable selfless work.
Oprah Winfrey

When women where made to look dumb by the world she broke it by becoming a world famous TV anchor.
Oprah had a complicated childhood. She lived in great poverty and often had to dress in potato sacks for which she was mocked at school. She was also sexually abused at an early age.
“Turn your wounds into wisdom.”
-         Oprah Winfrey
After becoming a journalist Oprah took over, the daily chat show which took off well and this later led to her own program - The Oprah Winfrey Show. The Oprah Winfrey show has proved to be one of the most successful and highly watched TV programs of all time. It has broken many social and cultural barriers such as homosexual issues. Oprah has remained a powerful role model of women and black American women in particular.

Madonna
When women were crushed under men's feet she broke it by standing up for what she thought was right, bold and confident. Madonna is an American singer, actress, dancer and movie star. She has sold over 300 million records worldwide, making her the best selling female artist of all time.

Throughout her career, Madonna has courted controversy for her mix of sexuality and religious imagery but she remained unapologetic and continued to perform her routines

“I'm tough, I'm ambitious, and I know exactly what I want. If that makes me a bitch, okay.”

Women, how we should be?
“There is always rain a little after a heavy storm but one fine the bright sun has to come up”
Hmm…Well some might say what is in future? What is the need for betterment in future? When the present womanhood itself has it all.

Ho really?
Yes of course, they have their 33% of parliament seats they are studying they are working over all they are ruling the world and much much more.
But wait, are we as liberal as we actually think we are, are we safe from the monsters that lure amongst us waiting to prey on us and drag us to doom? We are strong bold and independent but yet in danger most of the times.

We still don’t step out of the house without a sense of fear that subconsciously sticks to our head. This is something that may or may not change in the future, all we can do is take a calculative risk and step forward to express our thoughts and achieve our dreams.
Be strong, be bold and always be ready to step out of the box for the right reasons.
Never let small minds convince you that your dreams are too big.
